Start tuning

Tap Start tuning and allow microphone access. Pluck one open string at a time and adjust slowly in the direction shown. Auto follows the closest string; tap a string to choose it manually and hear its reference tone.

Microphone help

If access is denied, enable it in your browser’s site settings or iPhone Settings → RoTune → Microphone, then return and tap Start tuning. Check Screen Time or device-management restrictions if the option is unavailable. Reference tones work without microphone permission.

Website and iPhone app

The website offers free standard six-string guitar tuning. The iPhone app is coming soon. In the app, choose guitar, bass or ukulele free, with an instrument change available every 14 days. Unlock Everything adds unlimited switching, extra tunings, custom looks and saved instrument setups.

Saved instrument setups

In the unlocked app, set your tuning and appearance, tap the instrument icon and choose Save instrument setup under My instruments. Enter a name and optionally make it your launch default. Saved setups are local to this device. They survive Reset preferences and can be deleted individually while profile access is unlocked.

Purchases and restoration

The app uses a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Apple shows the actual local price before purchase. Restore Purchases recovers a valid unlock using the same Apple Account. An internet connection is needed for purchases and restoration. If the store is unavailable, use the free tuner and retry later.

Privacy and offline use

Audio is processed on your device and is not recorded or uploaded. The app’s policy is available in Settings even offline. The website can save files for offline use; turn off Save settings and offline files in Settings to remove them. Read the privacy policy for storage, hosting and support information.
